India’s Bharat Heavy Wins $498 Million Order
New Delhi 03/17/08 (www.emfis.com)
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) said today it has won an equipment order worth 20.3 billion rupees ($498 million) for a power facility in East India.
A venture of Indian Railways and NTPC Ltd. will buy four thermal 250 MW turbine units for a new power generation facility in the province of Bihar. All of the thermal plant orders from NTPC for this year have gone to BHEL.
The company is increasing capacity to 15,000 MW over the next two years.
